Rural school of Chalnakhel - Colegio rural de Chalnakhel

El trabajo en equipo y espíritu de cooperación para conseguir un objetivo común fue el mensaje que intentamos hacer llegar a los niños del colegio rural de Chalnakhel. Todos juntos estamos haciendo un esfuerzo por convertir su colegio en un lugar limpio. Estas son las premisas principales para que los niños puedan crecer sanos en un ambiente seguro y por tanto, aprovechar al máximo su paso por la educación.

Team work and a spirit of cooperation to reach common goals was the main message that we tried to reach out to the children in the rural school of Chalnakhel. All together, we are joining efforts to turn their school into a clean ground. This is a must if we want children to learn in a healthy and safe environment… and even more so if we want them to take full advantage of their educational process.

Nuestras armas principales fueron los juegos de cooperación y en equipo. Todos los niños tomaron

parte en las actividades de forma directa, activa y dinámica. En el colegio no están acostumbrados

a ser los protagonistas…así que una experiencia tan intensa como esta supone para ellos un

proceso de aprendizaje profundo y lleno de sentido.

Team and cooperation games, songs and acting were our only weapons. The children all took part

in the activities in a very direct, active and dynamic way. In school, they are not used to being the

main characters… so an experience as intense as this one makes it an especially meaningful

learning experience for them. 

Gestos tan simples como echar la basura a una cesta en vez de al suelo, separar el cartón y el plástico,  quemar las sobras de basura lejos de la fuente de agua y una vez los niños hayan terminado su jornada, pueden significar cambios importantes. Sobre todo, hace a la gente responsable de su entorno y entierra la moribunda actitud fatalista de “no hay nada que podamos hacer”. El cambio empieza con sólo un paso… y a veces ni siquiera hace falta eso: el cambio empieza cuando se cree en el cambio.

Simple gestures such as putting the garbage in a basket instead of the floor, separating cardboard and plastic or burning the left over rubbish far from the water source and only once the children have gone home, can mean big changes and improvements. Basically it means that people will slowly become more responsible for their surroundings, burying the deadly fatalist view that is convinced that “there is nothing that tey can do”. Change beings with just one step… and sometimes, not even a step in necessary: change begins as soon as we start to believe in it.
